Bargain holidays in the Canaries

By: holidayfan

The fantastic year-round climate of the Canary Islands is almost certainly the main reason for tourists planning a trip. The fabulous Canary isles are Hot, dry and sunny; already 3 good reasons why so many people take package deals to the Canaries year on year. The Canaries consist of a group of Spanish owned islands, the main ones being Lanzarote, Fuereventura, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and La Palma, and have become synonymous with cheap all-year-round holidays. Canaries holidays are popular with singles, couples and families, with plenty of attractions that will appeal to all types.

As one of the most popular holiday destinations for summer holidays, Canaries direct flights are available from all regional airports in the UK, including Durham Tees Valley, Edinburgh, Doncaster, Glasgow, East Midlands,Exeter, Gatwick and Manchester.

The most popular of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has airports both north and south, the airport to the south is a lot busier however. Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are similarly easy to get to by plane from any regional airport.

One of the most popular resorts inTenerife is Playa de Las Americas. The people go to Las Americas to enjoy the rows of bars and nightclubs and the lively atmosphere in places like The Full Monty Fun Pub, Tramps, Shenanigans, Sound of Cream, Rags Bar and Club, and Veronicas Dance Club. Nearby in Los Cristianos, a quieter, more peaceful resort, attracts couples and families to experience the bars and restaurants near the beach. Holidays in the Canaries can be enjoyed both summer and winter, even during winter months temperatures are still quite high with little chance of rain.

Fuerteventura is the oldest of all the Canaries, created around 70 million years ago during a major volcanic event. The Fuerteventura we see today has changed little and the landscape is decidely volcanic in origin. Luckily for the tourists there are no active Volcano's on Fuerteventura today!. Just 60 miles off the coast of Morocco The geographical position of Fuerteventura means that for many tens of thousands of years sand from the Sahara has been deposited on Fuerteventura's shores. Fuerteventura is renowned for having over 200Km of some of the most amazing beaches in the world.

Gran Canaria gives a good illusion of being a tropical paradise even though its part of Europe. The variety of landscapes and microclimates on Gran Canaria is incredible, some call it a mini continent. There are deserts and dunes, lush almost tropical forests, volcanic craters, mountains and of course the beautiful coastlines and fantastic beaches. There is a lot of choice on Gran Canaria when it comes to apartments, hotels and accommodation, including attractive resorts like, Las Palmas, Maspalomas, Meloneras, Playa Amadores, Playa del Ingles, Playa Taurito, Puerto Mogan and San Agustin

Being just 79 miles off the coast of Africa Lanzarote is another sun drenched Canary island. Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. The most well known resorts on Lanzarote are Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero, Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife.
