Discover Cairo

Along the River Nile you will find the capital of Egypt, Cairo. It is not only the most populous city in Africa; it is also one of the most populous or heavily populated cities in the world. Apart from that, Cairo is one of the most visited places by the tourists. So do not forget to take extra storage cards with you (for your digital cameras) when you go to Cairo for you would be taking lots of pictures there.

Being the administrative capital of the country, Cairo is an incredible city that is full of life. You will find high class restaurants and accommodations apart from music halls, museums and galleries. If you love shopping then you will have a great time in Cairo for the city has shopping centers ranging from ancient shopping bazaars to the modern shopping centers.

What is wonderful and astonishing about Cairo is that you will find donkey drawn carts as well as Mercedes on the roads. This is a rare combination and you do not get to see this everywhere. Cairo is also a city with ancient traditions along with modern religion. Many people are of the opinion that Cairo is a city that is a mystery to them and they are yet to discover the mystery so they go back to Cairo again and again to unravel or solve the mystery. You may not know this but Cairo has the potential to mix with the different cultures of the world. So do not be surprised when you find cuisines from France, Germany or the United States.

Architects are always delighted when he or she is in Cairo, so are the historians. However, you do not have to be an architect or a historian to visit Cairo because a vacation in Cairo is an experience that you will never forget in your life.

Just at a distance of twenty-four kilometers from Cairo you will find Memphis, which is the Egypt’s oldest capital. King Menes built this city and this is one place that you should visit when you are in Cairo. In the museum (in Memphis, you will find the Statue of Ramesses II) that has been made with fine-grained limestone. You should also check out the Temple for Embalming the Sacred Apis Bull.

You can not say you have visited Cairo if you did not go to see the famous and popular Pyramids of Giza. Here there are three pyramids; the First pyramid, the Second pyramid and the Great Pyramid. The biggest and the oldest of the three pyramids is the Great Pyramid of Giza.
