The Little Known Secrets of Columbus, Ohio

Columbus, Ohio is well known in North America as the capital of technology. This modern city, which is also the capital city of Ohio, is the main location base for over 150 technological companies. Many of these companies are large corporations that have smaller regional companies throughout North America.

The COSI Columbus, a science center and learning institute for the sciences, draws a huge number of tourists each year. Columbus offers many things to see and do; enough to keep you busy for a long weekend or even for a week long vacation in the summer.

For those of you interested in politics you'll want to visit Capital Square and partake in one of the many tours that are offered. If politics bore you, you can take a stroll through an old German neighborhood known as the German Village. Stop for a German beer at the local bar on your way back to your hotel.

Adventure buffs will find lots to do in Columbus. Directly outside of Columbus is the city of Powell where you can spend a day at Wyandot Lake Adventure Park. The park offers you a variety of rides through waves, or if you prefer, you can stretch out by the pool.

You must not miss a trip to the Columbus Zoo in case you are traveling with your children or if you are a kid at heart. There is always something different happening at the Zoo. So please call ahead to find out what is happening. You can discover the wonders of the local snakes in the area around Columbus and throughout Ohio. You may be fortunate to learn all about what porcupines and anteaters eat.

Another part of the Columbus Zoo is an area known as The Wilds. This attraction features wild animals in their natural habitat. You'll be able to watch rhinos, zebras, elephants, and monkeys as they eat and interact with one another.

The Southern Theater established in 1896 is one of the forgotten attractions of Columbus. This theater is ripe with history and has many tales to tell. Being a landmark of history in Columbus, it has been restored to its earlier grandeur and is treated with loving care. You can phone ahead to find out what shows are planned during your visit to the city. You can come to know more about the history of Columbus by participating in the many guided tours.

If you are interested to connect history with food then it will be of interest for you to know that Dave Thomas opened the first Wendy's Restaurant in Columbus, when he made his humble beginnings in this city in 1969. You can still order a meal by visiting this first Wendy's Restaurant.

Visiting Columbus is well worth the effort. Make sure that you find some time to play when you are on a business trip to Columbus. You must enjoy the fine dining that can be found in and around Columbus.
