    Later I learned that the territory of the Cocos Islands is an excellent retreat, a holiday for to one to escape the every mundane world that one faces daily. Just imagine lying on a hammock under the shade of a palm tree with your favorite beverage in hand and just listening to the waves of the ocean rolling gently on the white sandy beaches.

The islands are administered as a British crown colony with the capital at Stanley. There are two large islands (East Falkland and West Falkland) and some 200 small ones.
